Pencil & Sketch
As an artist and writer I often rely on sketchbooks as a mean of investigating composition and colour and paint marking. Its also an opportunity to find expressions in words and in recording day-to-day notes.
You may want to take a deeper look into my personal practice and share my pragmatic and intimate advice on my use of sketchbooks.
Finding compositions and setting out themes using pencil is a must when thinking about your next piece.
01
London Waterfront
I often find myself in London City, regularly staying in Southwark and the Southbank. The river is a fantastic inspiration with views and vistas drawing the eye toward compositions.
02
The Shard
A fantastic image - futuristic vision of the skyline of London. The Shard cuts through the sky almost slicing the cloud envelopes.
03
Skyline of London & the Thames
Collecting a series of fast sketches as I walk along the Southbank toward London City.
04
London Skyline III
Particularly interested in this grouping of structures how they are balanced and the importance of colour and shading when composing an image.
